Trade Wars Reloaded

Of the 467 new protectionist measures implemented worldwide in 2017, 90 came from the US, the country being the only one to enact more measures than in 2016. In Western Europe, the UK uses attractiveness policies such as trade finance, not unlike its neighbours Germany and Switzerland, ranking respectively 4th and 6th among the top 10 protectionist countries. As for emerging markets, BRICS countries were responsible for a quarter of all new measures over the last four years.
