En cette rentrée, la crise du coronavirus se conjugue à deux enjeux politiques d’envergure : la présidentielle aux États-Unis et la mise en place du projet de relance européen dans un contexte où le Brexit reste toujours un dossier non bouclé…
Aux États-Unis, le scrutin de novembre devrait avoir peu d’impact sur la trajectoire américaine, surtout sensible à la permanence du soutien de la Banque centrale et aux plans de relance budgétaire, qui seront de grande ampleur quelle que soit l’identité du futur Président.
Sur le vieux continent, l’Union européenne a, pour la première fois de son existence, été mandatée par les États membres pour emprunter en son nom propre afin de financer son plan de relance Next Generation EU. Si cet élan de solidarité est un bon signal à court terme, reste à savoir s’il sera durable, dans un contexte post-Covid qui voit déjà les pays européens afficher des rythmes de reprise économique différents… tout comme leurs niveaux d’endettement.
