German economy in 2017: stable, but not staid

Since 2015, Germany’s economy has been growing faster than planned, with 1.8% this year, and a forecast 1.7% for 2017, private consumption taking once again the role of primary growth driver. The main focus will be on the political arena, with the french and the Bundestag elections, and on the export side, where it is expected to grow only moderately (+3.4 2017). Finally, the ongoing downward pressure on insolvencies will continue, with a 5% decrease this year and a forecast 4.2% in 2017.
