U.S. companies’ payment behavior is deteriorating. Euler Hermes’ Payment Behavior Index (PBI) fell by 3.6 points over the past year, indicating a higher incidence of past due receivables, also consistent with slower GDP growth in Q3 2015 vs. Q3 2014. Past dues increased by +6% year on year, with metals under pressure from the drop in oil field investment, and from the stronger dollar which also pressured electronics prices.
