La première partie de l’année 2019 a été marquée par le repli du commerce mondial. Il devrait même décroître en volume sur l’ensemble de l’année d’après nos prévisions (-0,7 %), malgré une légère reprise attendue au deuxième semestre. Pourtant dans le même temps, la croissance de l’économie mondiale devrait ralentir d’un demi-point « seulement » cette année (passant de 3,1 % en 2018 à 2,7 % en 2019) avant de rester stable en 2020. Et si les défaillances d’entreprises augmenteront dans deux tiers des pays cette année, dans la plupart des cas le point de départ était bas. Comment expliquer cette dichotomie apparente entre croissance et commerce ?
